Construction Log: 1/1400 Scale Coronado Class Thru-Deck Cruiser

Back when I was rebuilding the TOS Consitution class, I had the opportunity to borrow a part that was originally planned to be part of a Starcrafts expanded line of TOS era models: the Coronado class shuttlecraft cruiser.  While the Starcrafts Extended Fleet never materialized beyond the Franz Josef kits such as the Tug and the Dreadnought, a few masters of the other ships still collected dust in boxes around his shop.  With permission, I was allowed to take a quick mold of the secondary hull so I could kitbash my own thru-deck cruiser.

I’d hardly even have to call her a kitbash.  All I needed to do was remove the interconnecting dorsal from the Starcrafts primary hull, add some brass stripping to the nacelle pylons, and then carefully align the hulls.  In no time at all, I was looking at primer:

And pretty soon, a finished ship!  Here she is, alongside her Enterprise berthmate during the rebuild.
